Because of the limitations of photographic equipment there is no such thing as a perfect image. Todays technology allows the photographer amazing flexibility to enhance any image by optimizing the composition, color, contrast and tonality. Each of these portraits (and in fact all images shown on the site) have been modified in the digital darkroom to improve visual and emotional impact. Sometimes the modifications are subtle; sometimes they are extensive. Every original image can be nudged closer to perfection in the digital darkroom!
